Welcome to Open Crystallography

This blog is dedicated to Open Crystallography. It has been formed because Saulius Grazulis and Peter Murray-Rust met at IUCr2011 and agree to share their Open Data, Open Source and other crystallographic resources. We intend it to be a central point for anyone interested in finding or contributing Open Crystallography.

What is Open? We use the Open Knowledge Foundation’s Open Definition:

The Open Knowledge Definition (OKD) sets out principles to define ‘openness’ in knowledge – that’s any kind of content or data ‘from sonnets to statistics, genes to geodata’. The definition can be summed up in the statement that “A piece of content or data is open if anyone is free to use, reuse, and redistribute it — subject only, at most, to the requirement to attribute and share-alike.”

This is open to everyone, but for the start we’ll list our current Open Resources:
